DCA Piglet Index falls as the European pork market is oversupplied

AnalysisBy Emilia Vera ConejoPublished: Today 03:50 PM CET

The DCA EU-5 Piglet Price Index drops in week 39 to €29.59 per piglet, down from €35.31 the previous week. After recent drops, slaughter pig prices stabilized across key European markets like Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium, while the piglet market fell again. Carcass quotations have stabilized for now, though as low prices persist, market participants are watching closely as processing plants operate in an oversupplied wholesale meat market.
