Record revenue for Cargill due to higher soy prices

Cargill achieved a record revenue of $164 billion in the broken fiscal year 2025-2026, which ended in May. With this, the commodities group is the largest private company in the United States. Compared with the previous fiscal year, revenue increased by 6.5%. Operating profit rose by 10% to $3.8 billion. Net profit was lower than a year earlier because of restructuring costs. This included cutting jobs and simplifying the organization. Shareholders will receive $865 million in dividends. That is far lower than last year, when $1.5 billion was paid out. The higher revenue and operating profit are, according to Cargill, partly the result of the volatile markets in which the group operates. Rising prices for soy and poultry meat were among the favorable factors. The expectation is that demand for bioethanol feedstocks, such as corn and soy, will remain strong now that fuel prices are at a high level as a result of the war in Iran. Shareholders Cargill is one of the largest private companies in the world and is almost entirely owned by the Cargill-MacMillan family. The family owns about 88% of the shares, divided among more than 100 family members who jointly exercise control. The remaining shares are owned by management.
