Brazilian pork export sets yearly record already

The Brazilian export of pork reached a volume of 144,000 tonnes in October, reports the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA). This achievement makes the sector record the second highest monthly result ever. The value even set a yearly record in the first ten months. There is an increase of 10.1% compared to October last year, when the export was 130,900 tonnes. The sector also managed to grow in value. The export value in October amounted to $343.6 million, an increase of 9.7% compared to $313.3 million in the same month a year earlier. Thus, October 2025 is the second best month ever in terms of export value. Over the first ten months of 2025, Brazil exported a total of 1.266 million tonnes of pork, 12.9% more than in the same period last year. The corresponding revenue increased by 22.7% to $3.046 billion, compared to $2.482 billion in 2024. Thus, the total export result of 2024 has already been surpassed. Diversification Brazil owes its success primarily to the fact that it continues to diversify its exports. China remains one of the most important markets with 10,030 tonnes, but due to weak demand, exports to the country nearly halved. The decline was as much as 47.6%. On the other hand, the Philippines remain the main market for Brazilian pork. In October, 46,300 tonnes were exported to the country, 21% more than in the same month last year. Additionally, Japan was again an important destination with an export volume of 10,700 tonnes (+5.9%). Mexico ranks third with a volume of 10,050 tonnes, showing an increase of as much as 27.1%. New export markets Exports to Hong Kong decreased by 1.3% to 8,400 tonnes. Exports to Chile also dropped significantly to 7,800 tonnes (-17.8%). On the other hand, Brazil managed to tap into two large new Asian markets, namely Vietnam (7,000 tonnes, +21.4%) and Singapore (5,400 tonnes, +19.6%). Additionally, exports to Ivory Coast rose sharply, increasing by as much as 266.7% to 4,100 tonnes.
