MHP sees production in Ukraine decline

The Ukrainian MHP exported approximately the same amount of poultry meat in the first half of 2025 as in the same period last year. However, production was significantly lower. Thanks to a favorable market, the company achieved strong revenue growth, but this did not translate into a better result. MHP exported about 185,589 tons of poultry meat in the first half of 2025, virtually the same as a year earlier. This result was achieved despite lower production in Ukraine, which decreased by 7% to 341,940 tons. Production in other European countries, on the other hand, increased by 5% to 73,118 tons. The lower domestic production is likely related to the ongoing war. In its annual report for 2024, the company reported that bombings had caused disruptions in energy supply and infrastructure. These factors are expected to remain a significant constraint on production capacity in 2025 as well. Higher revenue, lower profitIn the same period, MHP achieved a revenue of $1.635 billion (€1.4 billion), an increase of 10% compared to the first half of 2024. This growth is mainly attributed to higher selling prices. In the first half of 2025, the price of Ukrainian poultry meat rose by 16%, while the company received 4% more for its products in Europe. However, Ebitda decreased by 11% to $236 million, causing the Ebitda margin to drop from 18% to 14%. The net profit was $75 million (€64 million), which is 7.4% lower than a year earlier. According to MHP, the decline in profits is primarily due to unfavorable exchange rate developments.
