The export of seed potatoes, on the other hand, is booming. While Europe dropped the ball last month in terms of seed potato export, the continent is back on an upward trend this month.

The onion export continues to maintain the positive trend. Week 10 also shows higher figures than we have been accustomed to in recent years. This year, the threshold of 20,000 tons for that week has been exceeded for the first time in five years. This brings the total export so far to such a high level that only 2021 surpasses it.

The export of seed potatoes shows an increasing trend compared to the same period last year, as evidenced by the recently published figures from the Dutch Potato Organization (NAO). On January 31, 2025, the total export of seed potatoes stood at 416,621 tons, an increase of over 12% compared to last year (370,709 tons).
