Cor Pierik joins DCA Market Intelligence

Since this month, Cor Pierik has joined DCA Market Intelligence on a part-time basis. As an agricultural economist, he will analyze and interpret economic and sector developments in the agri-food industry based on data. His contributions will appear on Boerenbusiness.nl and DCA Market Intelligence.

Pierik (61) has an extensive track record in Dutch agriculture. In 1990, he joined Statistics Netherlands (CBS), where he worked for more than thirty years as an agricultural economist and was responsible for agricultural and food production data. In 2023, he moved into politics and stood as a candidate for the Farmer–Citizen Movement (BBB). From December 2023 until November 2025, he served as a member of the Dutch House of Representatives, with agriculture, infrastructure, and water management in his portfolio. He did not seek re-election in the most recent elections.

With Pierik joining the company, DCA Market Intelligence gains a wealth of expertise in agricultural data, statistics, and market developments. Within DCA Market Intelligence, he will focus on analyzing market and sector trends using figures and market datasets. “Data has been a common thread throughout my career.
