DCA Benchmark Index Specification DCA Dutch Piglet Price Index

This benchmark price index specification follows the DCA General Methodology, which outlines processes including data hierarchy, validation, use of expert judgement, and governance. The benchmark is administered in accordance with DCA's internal compliance framework. Operational validation and weighting techniques are applied in line with the DCA General Methodology. Detailed controls are not disclosed publicly for confidentiality and data integrity reasons.

The primary regional scope is the Netherlands. The benchmark reflects prevailing market conditions for piglet prices in the Netherlands.

The origin of the input data is sourced from the DCA BestPigletPrice and published piglet price prices from market participants (Vion, Van Rooi, Schuttert, Van der Eijnden, and Ter Haar Posthouwer).

The Dutch Piglet Price Index reflects a weekly composite index level excluding VAT and added bonus based on the defined component prices and the DCA BestPigletPrice.

The Dutch Piglet Price Index is calculated as a fixed-weight composite of the component prices listed below. Weights are fixed and are intended to reflect relative market relevance while ensuring diversification.

Each of the last three components is treated individually, ensuring broader market representation while avoiding over-reliance on any single trader or price.

The Dutch Piglet Price Index is calculated using publicly available or third-party published prices and benchmarks, including the DCA BestPigletPrice. DCA retrieves and records the component price from the respective publishers in accordance with their publication schedules. Publication is typically on Wednesday, and in some cases on Thursday, depending on the availability and timing of the final published input.
