Gas prices surge by almost 40% this month

European gas prices have reached their highest level in almost four years. Oil prices are also rising, despite efforts to resume peace talks. Brent crude is approaching its recent high recorded in late April, having risen by almost 15% so far this month. Gas prices, however, have risen much more sharply, climbing by over 39%.
