FrieslandCampina subsidiaries book higher profits

FrieslandCampina's foreign subsidiaries are showing good results. Both Dutch Lady in Malaysia and FrieslandCampina Wamco in Nigeria booked clearly higher profits in the first half of the year. Dutch Lady, in which FrieslandCampina has a slight majority stake, saw revenue in the first half of this year rise by about 5% to 784 million Malaysian ringgit. Converted at the current exchange rate, that amounts to €166 million. Profit rose by 41% to €14.4 million. The company says that sales of fresh dairy products are picking up and is also optimistic about the second half of the year. Profit was also supported because no transition costs had to be incurred, while that was still the case last year. Nigeria In Nigeria too, FrieslandCampina continued the upward trend. FrieslandCampina Wamco, of which about 68% is owned by the cooperative dairy company, saw revenue in the first half of this year rise by 18% to 359 billion Nigerian naira. Converted, that amounts to about €221 million. At the bottom line, profit increased tenfold to €18 million. The higher profit is the result of strong sales figures and improved margins. In addition, financing costs fell sharply compared with 2025. FrieslandCampina Engro Pakistan's half-year figures have not yet been published. In the first quarter of this year, this company also performed better than in 2025. It was then noted that the war in Iran, which had just started, had an impact on the business. FrieslandCampina performed overall less well in the first half of 2026 than in the same period last year, with profit turning out 40% lower.
