Canadian dairy exports recover in May

Canadian dairy exports remained strong in May, increasing by 5.60%, or 4 million kilo LME, compared with the same month last year. Although this represented another positive result, export growth slowed from the 9.06% increase recorded in April.Export declines were recorded for SMP, WMP, whey, modified whey, cheese, butter, and milk & cream. In contrast, yoghurt posted an exceptional increase compared with the previous year. YTD exports increased by 4.25%, or 15.3 million kilo LME, while YTD milk production remained 0.28% below the previous year, equivalent to a decline of 11 million kilo.
