Brazilian pork exports keep pace in April

Brazilian pork exports maintained strong growth in April. According to the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA), export prices were supported by firm demand from key international markets, particularly in Asia. The strongest growth was recorded in one of its highest-value markets.Brazil exported 140,000 tonnes of pork in April, including both fresh and processed products. This represents an 8.3% increase compared with the same month last year, when exports totalled 129,200 tonnes. Export revenue also increased during the month, reaching $328.2 million, up 8.8% from $301.5 million in April 2025.The positive monthly performance continued the strong momentum seen during the first four months of 2026. Between January and April, Brazilian pork exports reached 532,200 tonnes, an increase of 14.2% compared with the 466,000 tonnes exported during the same period in 2025. Revenue growth broadly matched the increase in export volumes. Export earnings totalled $1.24 billion in the first four months of the year, up 14.1% from $1.09 billion in the same period last year.Philippines remains leading marketThe Philippines remained the main destination for Brazilian pork exports in April, importing 35,900 tonnes. This was 20.6% higher than in the same month last year. Japan recorded the strongest growth among the main destinations, with imports reaching 16,600 tonnes, an increase of 131.9% year-on-year. Chile also posted solid growth, importing 11,100 tonnes, up 22.8%, while Vietnam increased purchases by 44.6% to 5,500 tonnes. China remained an important market, but shipments declined by 21.6% to 11,800 tonnes. Shipments to Hong Kong also declined by 34.3%, with imports totalling 8,000 tonnes. Other key markets included Argentina with 5,300 tonnes, Singapore with 5,100 tonnes, Uruguay with 4,600 tonnes and Mexico with 4,400 tonnes.
