Germans consume the most cheese in Europe

The Dutch are often called cheeseheads because of the high cheese production and consumption, but the Germans easily beat the Dutch, according to figures from the German Milchindustrieverband (MIV). While the average Dutch person consumed about 17 kilos of cheese last year according to CBS, the average German is well above that with 26.4 kilos.
