The EU cream market contracted in 2025 despite a notable increase in milk production. Prices declined sharply and remained volatile, as cream lost competitiveness to butter in milk fat allocation. At the same time, weaker demand across both internal EU and export markets, combined with rising imports, added further pressure, particularly in industrial segments.
