DOC Kaas milk price above €40, ahead of Arla

Following many other processors, DOC Kaas has also increased the milk price. The cheese producer from Hoogeveen is thereby pushing the base payout price through the €40 barrier and is pulling further ahead of future merger partner Arla. To be exact, the milk price rises this month by €2.18 to €40.59 per 100 kilos. In the DCA Farm Gate Milk Price Calculator, DOC Kaas is thereby in second place, just behind FrieslandCampina. Cono and Hochwald still have to announce the payout price. These processors were in first and second place in March. DOC Kaas followed in third place then and was still ahead of FrieslandCampina. Both Cono and Hochwald will have to raise prices to stay in the leading group. The maximum achievable milk price of DOC Kaas, linked to the Tuurlijk milk flow, comes to €47.59 per 100 kilos this month. That puts DOC Kaas at the top of the Maximum Milk Price Comparator for now, just ahead of A-ware, which raised strongly earlier this month. Milk price is catching up It can be concluded that DOC Kaas has worked its way up in the Milk Price Comparator in recent months. At the end of 2025, the company was still at the bottom. This increase is related to the strong rise in whey powder prices. DMK is an important European player in whey products and ingredients and is benefiting from the higher prices. Earlier this week, parent company DMK announced the 2025 annual figures. While revenue increased to €5.3 billion, net profit remained stable at €24.2 million. The German cooperative is awaiting the merger with Arla. The investigation by the competition authorities is expected to be completed in the first half of 2026. Further ahead of Arla Merger partner Arla kept the milk price stable for March. In April, DOC Kaas is almost €4 above that of Arla. Although the merger with Arla should structurally give DOC and DMK members a better milk price, that is not the case at the moment.
