DMK reports good result over past financial year

The DMK Group can look back on a successful financial year 2025, based on preliminary figures. Revenue rose to €5.3 billion and the milk price for members was about €4 per 100 kilos higher than in 2024. Equity also increased clearly. According to DMK itself, the company was among the top payers in Germany last year with an average member milk price of €51.40 per 100 kilos. German media, however, name other 'best' payers. DMK does not mention whether there will also be a supplementary payment. According to the company, the higher milk price did attract new members. The €200 million higher annual revenue is partly the result of higher dairy prices. Despite a planned merger with Arla, DMK continued last year to improve its sustainability score and at the same time invested in factories. In Hoogeveen, a new maturation warehouse for natural cheese was put into use. In addition, capacity was expanded at the Edewecht and Altentreptow sites. On climate, DMK wants to reduce Scope 3 emissions (farm level) by 25% by 2030. FLAG emissions must also be reduced by 30.3%, while Scope 1 and 2 emissions (processing and transport) together must fall by 42%. Increase in equity Equity rose from 35.4% in 2024 to 37.9%. Net result came in slightly lower at €24.2 million than in 2024 (€24.6 million). In both years, this is a net margin of less than 0.5%, which is relatively low even for a food company. In the first half of this year, DMK expects a persistently challenging market environment. The high milk supply leads to strong utilisation of processing capacity and especially at the start of the year puts pressure on raw material markets. At the same time, the first signs of stabilisation are visible for the main dairy products, supported by solid demand on the European internal market and a strong international competitive position. Against this background, DMK expects supply and demand to gradually come into balance over the course of the year, although geopolitical uncertainties and high production levels may continue to cause volatility. Overall, the company considers its position strong and looks positively at the current year. The first months show that DMK is in line with the performance of 2025 and is continuing the strategic course. Overall, DMK is satisfied and looks ahead to the expected merger with Arla. The plans for this were approved in June 2025 by both cooperative boards. The merger is currently in the phase of legal approval, which is expected to be completed in the first half of 2026.
