FrieslandCampina waits after shift in market

FrieslandCampina is taking a wait-and-see approach after a dairy market that is moving upwards again. The result is that the standard milk price for March remains stable. The organic milk price is going down in the meantime. Formally, FrieslandCampina does not draw the conclusion itself that the milk price should be kept constant. However, the company expects that the businesses it compares itself to for the determination of the guarantee price will keep their standard milk prices stable for March. This is the reason for FrieslandCampina to do the same. The underlying reason is that the dairy market has made an unexpected turn in recent weeks, from downwards to upwards again. There is a slight decline in market prices, and the expectation at FrieslandCampina is that the reference companies will adjust their compensation for organic farm milk accordingly.
