Canadian dairy trade expands amid mixed product performance

Canadian dairy exports showed positive momentum year to date through November, increasing by 2.54%, equivalent to approximately 20 million kilo in liquid milk equivalent (LME).Despite this overall growth, several product categories recorded declines over the period, including skim milk powder, whole milk powder, modified whey, whey permeate, milk constituents, casein, cheese, and condensed products. As of November, year-to-date import volumes increased by 11.06%, reaching roughly 124 million kilo in LME. This sustained growth points to a generally favourable trading environment. Nevertheless, import volumes declined in several categories, notably whole milk powder, whey powder, whey protein concentrates, buttermilk, milk protein concentrates, lactose, whey protein isolate, fermented milk, and regular milk.
