Brazil's poultry meat market no longer rises

In Brazil’s chicken meat market, it is becoming increasingly clear that global broiler supply is recovering. The Brazilian export volume, which had shown strong growth for years, decreased in November. As a result, the total exports for the entire year has now also fallen into negative territory. The Brazilian export of chicken meat showed a clear decline in November, according to figures from the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA). With a total volume of 434,900 tons, exports were 6.5% lower than in the same month in 2024. Compared to the previous month, there was even a decrease of 13.2%. The lower exports is a result of a more abundant chicken meat market now that the availability of hatching eggs has recovered. The export value also dropped. It amounted to $810.7 million, a decrease of 9.3% compared to November 2024. The figures indicate that international demand for Brazilian chicken meat is under pressure, despite Brazil's position as the world's largest exporter. In the first eleven months of 2025, the market slightly trailed behind the previous year. Between January and November, 4.81 million tons of chicken meat were exported, 0.7% less than in the same period in 2024. Total revenues during this period fell by 2.5% to $8.842 billion. According to analysts, the decline may be related to fluctuations in the global market, exchange rate effects, and a cooling demand in several key sales markets. Major players continue to show the biggest increases The United Arab Emirates remained the main market for Brazilian chicken meat in 2025. Between January and November, they imported 433,800 tons, an increase of 2.1% compared to a year earlier. Japan followed as the second destination with 367,400 tons, although imports there actually decreased by 10.8%. Saudi Arabia also showed growth with 362,600 tons (+6.3%), while South Africa imported 288,600 tons of chicken meat (-4.6%). Mexico was one of the strongest growth markets. Exports to this country increased by 16.2% to 238,200 tons. Within Brazil, Paraná remained the largest exporting state, with 1.91 million tons of chicken meat in the first eleven months of 2025, although this represented a decrease of 3.94% compared to the same period last year. Santa Catarina managed to grow slightly, with exports of 1,086,000 tons (+1.76%). Rio Grande do Sul exported 615,000 tons (-3.25%), while São Paulo noted a robust increase of 9.57% with 297,000 tons. Goiás even showed the fastest growth among the exporting regions with 246,000 tons, representing an increase of 10.69%.
