Milk price Milcobel down by over 4.50 euros

Milcobel has significantly lowered the milk price for October. The Belgian dairy cooperative is deducting over €4.50 per 100 kilograms from the payment price and indicates that the dairy markets are still in a free market. To be precise, the milk price decreases by €4.62 to €45.52 per 100 kilograms for an annual delivery of 1.3 million kilograms. This is the lowest level since August 2024. Including the changes in September, the reduction since the summer amounts to €7.70 per 100 kilograms. With this, Milcobel is responding to the mood in the dairy markets, which have fallen sharply in recent months. In the Milk Price Calculator for Belgium, Milcobel's milk price is in line with that of LDA, which also recently reduced its price significantly, although it was still over September. Free fall Since the summer, the price of mozzarella, which is a key pillar under the valorization of milk at Milcobel, has decreased by over 30%. And still, the bottom has not been reached. The dairy cooperative notes continued hesitance among buyers in the current declining market. The term free fall is being discussed, and there is no lie in it. The expected milk price drop in the coming months seems to be historically significant, given the current knowledge.
