DCA Market Intelligence publishes weekly benchmark prices for liquid cattle manure in the Netherlands. Each benchmark represents the prevailing market level in its respective region:

1. Product description

Quality

Liquid cattle manure, fertilizer code 14 (NL), including sampling, weighing, and analysis, originating from the relevant area and distributed over long distances, and sold outside the relevant area.

Phosphate (P)between 1.8 and 2 kg
Nitrogen (N)between 4 and 4.5 kg

Quantity

Minimum of 1 metric ton (1,000 kg).

Timing

Delivery in the assessment period.

Delivery terms

Ex farm in the respective area under normal conditions.

EUR/metric ton (1,000 kg).

2. Methodological framework

This benchmark specification follows the DCA General Methodology, which outlines processes including data hierarchy, validation, use of expert judgement, and governance. The benchmark is administered in accordance with DCA's internal compliance framework. Operational validation and weighting techniques are applied in line with the DCA General Methodology. Detailed controls are not disclosed publicly for confidentiality and data integrity reasons.

3. Origin and regional scope

The DCA liquid pig manure benchmark price applies to liquid cattle manure of Dutch origin. This benchmark is produced for and applies to transactions executed within the Netherlands.

4. Price definition

The benchmark reflects the average price excluding VAT of transactions completed during the assessment period (Thursday 08:00 of the previous week through Thursday 08:00 CET of the current week). Prices are rounded to the nearest €0.50, in line with the Public Methodology Summary.

5. Calculation method

Prices are based on validated data provided by professional market participants, primarily consisting of concluded transactions within the assessment window. Submissions are reviewed for accuracy and consistency; statistical checks identify outliers, which are excluded from the calculation while all submissions remain recorded in DCA's internal system.

6. Data collection window and publication

Price input is collected over a week until Thursday 11:30 CET. The benchmark price is published on Thursday at 12:00 CET via email and on the website of Boerenbusiness. This online platform is also part of DCA Market Intelligence. In the event of a public holiday, the collection and publication schedule follows the Public Holiday Schedule published on the DCA platform.
