Arla milk price holds just above 50 euros

Just like FrieslandCampina, Arla has lowered the milk price for October. The Scandinavian dairy cooperative notes that the increased milk supply has disrupted the balance in the dairy market. The organic market, however, is in balance. In the Netherlands, the milk price decreases by €2.07 to €50.14 per 100 kilos. This is calculated based on an annual supply of 1 million kilos and the standard Dutch contents. Including the maximum attainable bonuses and premiums linked to Beter voor, the payout price amounts to €56.14. In the Milk Price Calculator, Arla still has to defer to FrieslandCampina, although the Dutch dairy cooperative will lower the milk price a bit more sharply next month. Market under pressure In light of the dairy market that has significantly declined in recent weeks, the drop does not come as a surprise. Presumably, the coming months will also be characterized by further corrections of the milk price. Arla attributes the drop to the increased milk supply, both in Europe and beyond.
